Where They At
2010

Where They At was an ambituous project that was spearheaded by music historian Alison Fensterstock and photographer Aubrey Edwards that set out to document the people involved in the origins of the bounce and hip-hop scene in New Orleans, through oral histories, anecdotes, sharing of artifacts and portraiture.

Before this official catalog for the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, the team often showcased the works at off-spaces around the States and once abroad, that became events with the performers themselves. Having little to no experience with publication or catalog design, we were able to produce this little booklet quickly over a 3-day weekend and rushed to print when the museum requested one. Much of the content was available from the comprehensive site that I had been tasked to develop beforehand, so it made sense to tie in some of these previously set design and color systems from the website into the final publication.

The experience shared with everyone while working on this project were truly memorable and play an important role still in my life today.
