The museum is quite a formal setting, and sees itself that way to some degree, so it was a challenge to introduce the dark themes of Generic Art Solutions, without feeling too sterile, within the museum context.

I think there was some nice experimentation with captioning used within the layout. This is a moment in which I became interested in using captions as a design element, rather than a burden or after thought for images or margins. Other than that, nothing groundbreaking in the single column format. I had grand ideas to help steer their marketing with a postcard system, show below, that accompanied the opening of the show, but it never stuck and probably caused issues at the post office.
