Voir une voie / To see a voice
2020

Feeling an imperative need for the art community in New Orleans to have a platform for the dissemination of their art and writing during this past year, overcoming isolation when the pandemic started, Manon Bellet and I collaborated on a project that began in May 2020, entitled « Voir une voie » ( to see a voice).

The central idea of our project was to invite an artist, writer, or thinker to submit a short text and / or image. This submission could have ranged from an article, poetry, fiction, or a text of one’s own composition—what has been read or written about during the pandemic, reflecting the difficult time we are collectively facing that may give us hope or alternative ways of thinking and processing our environment.

The projections took place every other weekend from May to December 2020, showcasing over forty artists from the region and abroad in the form of a wall projection on a street-side public space, along with printed pamphlets documenting and archiving the project, freely distributed to the public and passersby. We self-financed the project, since we had a projector and I was able to design and print the pamphlets as well.
