SIBYL
2023

With a glut of commercial-forward art galleries here in New Orleans, I was happy to be contacted by Katherine Ainsley about her, then new project space and gallery, SIBYL, and her approaching the idea with a more critical eye and deeper audience engagement. We set out to collaborate on printed takeaways that could provide additional insight, include curatorial statements, act as a gallery guide/checklist and ultimately be something one would prefer to keep, rather than discard in our message-heavy present.

SIBYL zine covers from 2023–24.

Print produced in-house.

We set out to create something unique to each artist exhibition, where through the use image reference, certain design choices, along with inking and paper color choices. It was another rare opportunity to design as well as produce the publications/posters in-house at our Risograph studio, so this allowed for a bit more playfulness in our decision making.

In the end we attempted to create something that we could streamline a bit during each exhibition production cycle and for this we exceeded. However, with costs being what they are, we were able to produce a beautiful set of publications/posters before budgeting had to be re-examined in the slim-margin arts sector.
